Rear View Mirror #3
started a secondment with a client, which explains (but does not justify) my absence on this newly established blog. Having just finished my 6 month probation, I was promptly shifted to a client for 6 months. Already feeling good vibes, will see how it goes...
went on holiday to the Sunshine Coast, which explains my re-emergence here. My boyfriend and I visited his parents, who are house-sitting in the Gympie hinterlands, and visited Rainbow Beach, Carlo Sand Blow, Montville, the Ginger Factory, Eumundi Markets, Noosa. The Big Pineapple ...
watched 1984, initial impression being very good staging, but the play was not as vibrant and emotionally engaging as expected … though my expectations may be off considering the material - this one deserves its own post ...
watched GOT 7.2-7.3. It’s finally time for some payoffs, and they are glorious. To save some spoilers, I’ll probably do a post at the end of this half of the season...
also watched the Good Fight, and it’s so good to have Diane and Luca back on my screens. As much as Alicia was the heart of that world, it’s so refreshing to see a new perspective...
made it half way through ‘Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War’ by Viet Thanh Nguyen (author of Pulitzer Prize winning The Sympathiser), a treatise on the ethics of memory in the context of the Vietnam War. continued training for City2Surf, which is on this weekend...
joined a walking group (Walky McWalkyface) with some friends, where we, you guessed it, walk and then have brunch. My first walk was up Mount Taylor ...
celebrated my niece’s 11th birthday, and bought (by proxy) these squishy toys as a birthday present, apparently the latest craze sweeping her school. Does not compute.
started cycling to work again, since my secondment means my commute is cut in half.
