I had a Sydney weekend of family get-togethers. First dinner with my partner and my dad, and it went surprisingly well. My dad was much more talkative than I was expecting, and his English was much better than I remember, though we did not have much more to say in English after about an hour.
We bought an automatic door opener for our chook shed. Yes, an automatic door opener. So that we don't have to inconvenience our friends/neighbours too much when we're away and ask them to look after the chickens.
